Thanks again for your advice..
I have experience as 'systems analyst' continuously but job duties/responsibilities increased over last 7 years; during this time received multiple trainings, certifications, outstanding performer awards and traveled other countries for work etc. Will these help in proving 'progressive experience? My PERM requires Masters or 60 months of experience in any of the positions; programmer or IT analyst or systems analyst. Would it be sufficient in this case, if we can reflect progressive job duties in experience letters.
I have seen in many forum posts that affidavits from co-workers at client location (not colleagues) are valid, is this really true?
I'm planning to have a consultation with an attorney for a second opinion on this and discuss the strategy, how this petition should be filed, do you recommend?
Thanks in advance.

There is a list of some prominent people in a Wiki article. Here is the link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_Americans
Not sure how many of these are EB based though.
Maybe there are more like these for people of different nationalities; I didn't check.

We are open to all possibilities in getting relief (big or small) for the community.
You may want to read more about the process of a bill , politics of the immigration issue and how it affects any bill. It is not as simple as one line amendment.
Please get involved with IV and learn more what we are doing. Try getting appointments with your lawmakers and take part in action items. We currently have an action item going. You will know how the process of amendment and bills work. Opening threads asking IV core is not going to help.Help yourself by actively getting involved.
BTW Could you update/complete your profile. This data is helpful for IV advocacy efforts and also for IV tracker.
Thanks Pappu for your reply.
I am not trying to get your status report. I do not want your battle plan either. I am trying to figure out if there is any ray of hope...
Yes there is no one-line amendment. But the objective of an amendment can be one line. That is what I mean. I saw many amendments before and am familiar with the political jargon. You are thinking that I am a novice when it comes to Immigration. That is ok and that is not the issue here.
Recently in one fundraising thread, I counted the number of retrogressed PD members contribution to others. Its in the ratio 1:5. The reason for this thread started at that time.
If members know that IV has the right strategy and right connections then the support to IV will be overwhelming. That is all I want to convey in the thread.

IV is meant for discussing topics/issues related to employment-based green cards. I am not sure if we can discuss any other extraneous topic here.

The passport is valid but the visa inside it is not. I suppose you are saying this is not a problem!?:)
Sorry, it's just that she is nervous about buying a $700 plane ticket and running into trouble.
Correct, just the passport. Visa is not checked when traveling withing the US.

Besides calling USCIS at the number given above, you might want to raise this issue in the Ombudsman's conference call on Friday. Receiping Delays is already an agenda item. Details are as below:
“USCIS Receipting Delay II – How Does This Affect You?” – November 2, 2007 2:00-3:00 EDT
Email your concerns/questions in advance, to: cisombudsman.publicaffairs@dhs.gov
I attended last call, which was very helpful.

I did my three years diploma (polytechnic) and three years engineering degree (B.E.) after that and I had @ eight years of experience while I had applied for GC through EB2 category. I had no problem in getting my I-140 approval; so far I have not received single rfe.
Hi,
Can you share you EE copy with me? It will really help me to understand that on which basis your evaluation has done.. Either 13 years schooling and 3 year Bachelor equivelent to US Bachelor...

Thanks for posting this. My I-140 was applied in May 2007 and I have not heard anything. USCIS says it has processed until July 24, 2007. What a bunch of lies.

I recently renewed my license in Oklahoma and was surprised to find out that on top of shorter expiration date, now my license has TEMPORARY written across it. This is new rule that OK is applying for non-residents and non-citizens. Has any body else gone thru similar experience? I am outraged that now I will be discriminated every where. DL is used on day to day basis and every body will question me, suspect me as to why TEMPORARY is written on my DL. Even DL office was not sure when this new rule was implemented, how come police officers, general public will know about it. I feel ashamed to even show my DL now. Ill get hard time getting loans etc b/c people will think I may move out any time as I am here Temporarily
Is it only Oklahoma or other states are doing the same? See the link below from official DPS link for sample of DL.

I would suggest that before you take more interest in her case, first consult with her husband and make sure it is OK with him ;) ;) You know what I mean, right?:D

it is possible for company B to apply as a future employee. But if you do not join company B after the GC is approved, it constitutes fraud on your part and that of the company.

Anders, good job on the hockey pics. I have a couple of questions.
Did the lighting necessitate your using ISO 1600? What was the lens you used? Monopod? What metering mode? Did the ice cause any problems?
The reason I am asking is that I recently did some boys and girls high school portrait shots and they want me to shoot some games. The lighting at the school's rink seems like I would not need ISO 1600 and still get to shoot wide open and high SS.
Here is the link for the portraits that I did shoot and would like your opinion: I shot these with the 1Ds MII and 85 1.2 (Should have had a better backdrop IMO)

just called USCIS and reached level 2 customer support. she still could not find my 485 information. She send a request to NSC to look for my application. and ask me to ask them after 45 days if I still not hear anything from NSC.
Dont worry. You will get it soon. .Same thing happened to me. Applied I-485 on July 2nd, EAD/AP in 2nd week of August. Got receipts for EAD/AP from NEC on Aug 29, checks cleared today for I-485 from TSC.
So Dont worry.. You should get it.

EB-2, 485 and 140 submitted in June 2007 concurrently, RD and PD both are June 2007. I borrowed my husband's Swiss nationality. Now 140 approved, AP and EAD got, but NC is still pending.
Just curious: When will USCIS process my 485? According to my nationality or my husband's? If it's mine, god, I may have to wait for 4, 5 years because of the terrible VB backlog! Is it after 485, everyone no matter which nationality, the processing time should be the same. All the world line up together. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Ok .. let me give you the math before getting to the question: )
Looking at the numbers from USCIS: http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/New%20Structure/3rd%20Level%20(Left%20Nav%20Children)/Green%20Card%20-%203rd%20Level/Pending%20Form%20I485%20Reports.pdf
140 k GC numbers every year
85% available for folks in US, which is 199k
Out of these 119 k visas available, 40k are Eb3 category ..
10% for country .. so India's numbers should be 4000 a year
There are 14000 Eb3 visas before mine
Out of these 4750 are from India
So maybe I get the GC in 1 year 2 months?
Starting from? next Oct 10, meaning GC in Dec 11?
7170 visa should be given this year with the Apr 01 cut off .. so roughly 7000 Eb3 visas available so in all probability I should get it next year Dec 10?
What is confusing is this?
As per the latest visa bulletin .. the Eb3 cut off for all countries is around jun 02
And there are about 14k eb3 numbers till Jun 02.. so isn't the cut off be something like Dec 03 .. as current date .. since that's what 40k GC numbers add to?
If 40k GC's available for Eb3 for 2009 ... why is the cut off date Jun 02 .. which accoutns for only 14k GC's?
